New Patient Information
Welcome to Shipston Dental Practice! We are dedicated to providing you with the highest standard of care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Our goal is to ensure you are entirely satisfied with your treatment, and we work hard to make your experience as pleasant as possible.
Accessibility and Special Requirements
When making your first appointment, please let us know if you have any special requirements. We aim to make the practice as accessible as possible. Our reception area, one surgery, and cloakroom (with baby change facilities) are fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility. We also have three surgeries upstairs to serve you better.
Your First Appointment
To ensure that your treatment is as safe and effective as possible, we ask that you complete a medical history form before your first appointment. This includes listing any medications you are currently taking. During your initial consultation, we’ll take the time to discuss your previous dental treatments and understand your future dental care goals.
We also carry out a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, and soft tissues to begin the treatment planning process. If you are in pain, relief of your dental discomfort will be our priority.

Radiographs and X-Rays
If necessary, we will take radiographs (x-rays) to gain a complete understanding of your dental health and help us plan your treatment. However, if you have had recent x-rays taken at your previous dental practice, we can obtain them on your behalf (please bring the contact details of your previous dentist).

Treatment Costs & Payment Options
We will discuss the nature and costs of treatment with you as soon as possible. You will receive a written breakdown of all fees for your peace of mind. Payment for the initial consultation is due at your first appointment. We accept cash, cheques, and most major debit and credit cards for your convenience.
For ongoing care, we offer the option to budget monthly for routine dental care through our Dental Care Plan in partnership with Patient Plan Limited.
Care for Children
We are proud to welcome children as patients at Shipston Dental Practice. Our team is committed to looking after young patients exceptionally well. We offer an individual service for children, including a free play session for pre-schoolers to make their visit fun and stress-free.
We believe that tooth decay can start as soon as teeth appear, but the good news is it is completely preventable with proper care. We ask that a person with legal parental responsibility for the child completes a Medical History form and attends with any child under 16.
For parents, we offer Denplan’s inclusive Plans for Children, provided by Carrie Preston, to help budget for quality dental care.

Dental Hygiene and Prevention
Our Dental Hygienists/Therapists play a key role in maintaining healthy teeth and gums for both adults and children. They help prevent and treat gum disease in adults and assist with our child prevention strategies to ensure a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Our Reception Team
Our receptionists are friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to assist you with any questions or queries you may have. If you need help or would like to book an appointment, feel free to visit us or give us a call at 01608 661551.
Your Feedback Matters
We greatly value your feedback. Many of our new patients come to us through personal recommendations, and we encourage you to share your experience if you are satisfied with our clinical skills and customer service. If anything about your visit didn’t meet your expectations, please let us know. We are constantly striving to improve our service.
Appointment Cancellations
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer the time to another patient. Please note that if less than 24 hours notice is given or an appointment is missed, a charge may be applied to cover practice overheads.
