Emergency Dental Care at Shipston Dental Practice

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

Dental emergencies can happen at any time, and it's important to know what to do when a problem arises. At Shipston Dental Practice, we’re committed to helping you when you need us the most. Here’s everything you need to know about handling dental emergencies and getting the care you need.

Out-of-Hours Dental Care

If you experience a dental emergency outside of our regular office hours, don’t worry. Shipston Dental Practice provides a 24/7 emergency dental service to support our patients.

Simply call our number: 01608 661551.

You will be directed to a recorded message with details of the out-of-hours service. A dentist will provide telephone advice, and if necessary, arrange treatment. If the issue cannot be safely deferred until the practice reopens, we will make arrangements for you to receive treatment at the earliest opportunity.

Urgent Dental Care During Opening Hours

If you don’t require emergency treatment but need to see a dentist quickly, please call the practice as soon as possible during our opening hours. We will offer advice and make an appointment for you at the earliest available time.

New Patients Welcome

If you are not yet registered with Shipston Dental Practice, we welcome you to call us for advice and to arrange an appointment if you are experiencing a dental issue. We will ensure you get the help you need, whether it’s an urgent issue or advice on how to manage your symptoms until you can see a dentist.

Types of Dental Emergencies

Dental emergencies can vary, but common issues that require immediate attention include:

  • Toothaches: Severe pain, swelling, or sensitivity that persists.
  • Knocked-out teeth: In the case of trauma, call us immediately to increase the chances of saving the tooth.
  • Broken or cracked teeth: If the tooth is chipped, cracked, or broken, especially with pain or bleeding.
  • Lost fillings or crowns: If you lose a dental restoration, it can be painful or cause further damage.
  • Abscesses or infections: Any signs of swelling, pus, or severe pain could indicate an infection that needs prompt attention.

In all these cases, it’s crucial to contact us as soon as possible to prevent further complications and ensure timely treatment.
